Q & A

What goals should I set?

We are often asked whether you should specify the exact measurements of your work when ordering, or whether you should add a few millimeters to the size of the frame yourself.

We always recommend that you enter the exact image dimensions of your work, as the frame is built based on the entered dimensions. In the frame, what is called a rebate is added, which ensures that there is room for you to place your work in the frame without damaging the edges.

If you opt for extra features such as passepartout, the builder will automatically include the new current measurements on the website. You therefore only need to click on the desired passepartout size and color in step 4.

What is the purpose of passepartout?

Passepartout helps to give the picture in the frame air. We recommend passepartout if you have a work where the color goes all the way to the edge and you want to play with the size or give the whole a more elegant look.

We do not recommend passepartout if the work has an original white border.

As a starting point, the passepartout has an external maximum measurement of 105 x 160 cm. If you need a larger one, please contact us at kontakt@nethart.com to find out more.

What is the difference between your glasses and how do I choose the right one?

We have 3 types of glass - "Normal Glass", "Anti-Reflection" and "Museum 99". All 3 glasses are real glass with different functions. Below, we try to guide you in choosing the glass that suits your temperament, the light mood of the room and your wallet.

Normal Glass is recommended if you have a work that is not an original work. However, the glass can in principle be used for all kinds of works, especially if the total price is important. If the glass hangs in direct sunlight or has dark tones, you will experience the glass's high degree of reflection.
The glass is ordinary 2mm glass.
The UV protection is 0% out of 100%.

Anti-Reflection is recommended if you want glass with a low degree of reflection, but don't want to pay for museum glass. The glass has a matte coating that eliminates reflection. However, be aware that this matte function is most optimal if the work lies directly against the glass. If there is a distance between the glass and the work, you may experience a blur. We recommend the glass for frames with glass surfaces larger than 3A.
The UV protection is 0% out of 100%.

Museum 99 is the best glass in the business! With a very low degree of reflection and a UV protection of 99% out of 100%, which ensures that your work does not fade over time. It tolerates direct sunlight. We recommend the glass for all original works and for you who want to avoid reflection and still have a completely clear glass. Museum 99 is a long-term investment that you won't regret!
We deal directly with the manufacturer of museum glass, and we can therefore give the best prices for Museum 99 in Scandinavia.
The UV protection is 99% out of 100%.

No glass is recommended if you have a work that is already attached to a backing and does not need protection.

What can actually be framed?

Almost everything! We want to help frame your memories, so don't ever hesitate to reach out to us, even if your request is unique. We are always ready to investigate whether we can offer a frame solution that can make your memory hang.

What suspensions do you use for your frames?

For our smaller frames, a single suspension is mounted. Here you need one screw.

For our larger frames, two serrated brackets are fitted at the top of each corner of the frame. If your frame arrives with corner protectors, lift these to find the frame's suspension. For these suspensions, you need two screws - one for each side.

Is it easy to mount my work in your frames?

Our mission is to make framing as easy and fun as possible. Therefore, you will be able to easily mount your poster or work at home in our frames.

If you feel most comfortable with us helping you, then you are always welcome in our store at Jægersborggade 47.

Why should I choose pasting?

Pasting is optional if the poster has been rolled up, bent or has become wavy in an existing frame over time. Sticking means that your poster is glued to the acid-free back of the frame, which smoothes it and the visibility of any buck in paper is greatly reduced.

Please note that it is always possible to hit a stick-on, but that it is not possible to remove the poster from the back piece again.

As a general rule, we do not recommend pasting original works.

Pasting requires either handing in or sending the work to our shop. The latter takes place by agreement and at the customer's own risk.

Do you make box frames, aquarium frames or frames with distance strips?

There is good news - we do! If you want to order one of the above frames, we would very much like to invite you to visit our shop in Jægersborggade 47, where we are ready to help with the best frame solution. If you don't have the opportunity to visit the store, we are also ready to guide you over the phone.

Distance list, distance list etc..

It can enhance the effect of the experience if a work is mounted in a frame with air between the glass and the work itself. We call it distance list, but our predecessors in the framing industry have also called it distance list, box frames, aquarium frames, and many other names, so if you're confused, it's for good reason, and you're certainly not alone. Quite simply, we install a thin wooden strip in oak, black or white in either 10 mm or 14 mm between the glass and rear gun. This makes it possible for the work to be mounted with air to the glass and thus achieve a "floating" effect.

Please note that it is only possible to select distance list with Normal Glass and Museum 99 glass. Price depends on the size of the work and choice of distance list. But so far no one has been able to beat us on price.

The perfect frame - what are your frames made of?

Our frame profiles consist of FSC certified pine.

Let's bust a myth. Solid oak can in many cases be classified as high quality, but this is not the case with frames. Solid oak is a hard type of wood, which increases the risk that over time lint will appear in the corner joints, as wood is a living material. From a great many tests of different types of wood, we have come to the conclusion that FSC certified finger-picked pine covered with either oiled oak veneer or surface treated with our colors creates the perfect frames.

Pine is a softer type of wood that creates less fluff in the corner joints over time. To avoid 100% fluff in corner joints, we put a very small amount of special wood wax in the corners.

What framework solutions can we help with?

Changeover frames on special measures; our changing frames for special measurements are the frame where you can adapt the frame exactly to your picture dimensions and easily frame your work yourself.

"Framing People Premium" - are our quality frames in standard sizes. We have launched the series of standard frames, all of which are manufactured in Denmark under proper working conditions and of quality materials, as it has been impossible for us to find on the market.

With our colleague's experience from the window industry and eagerness to innovate, we have created the "Mega frame". The definition of a "Mega Frame" is that it is "welded" so that the glass is fixed to the frame strip. This ensures that the frame becomes significantly more dimensionally stable, and that narrow frame strips can hold real glass in large sizes. In practice, this means that you can combine our narrow "Anna profile" with our glass max dimensions.

What is an acid-free backing?

A back piece is what holds your work in place in the frame. We always use an acid-free backing, so your work is protected from yellowing over time. It is therefore a long-term investment.

Do you make aluminum frames?

It can sometimes feel a shame to have to give up certain things because they are not sustainable. We have actively chosen to phase out metal frame profiles from our production, so that we can thereby improve the climate footprint of our production. We are constantly working to expand our range and create alternatives for you in sustainable wood.

We believe in many small streams.

Do you make classic frames of paintings on canvas?

Yes! A painting on canvas is usually stretched on what is called a blind frame, i.e. a wooden frame that holds the work stretched out.

The classic framing of a painting would be to mount the work in a so-called floating frame. Here you have to imagine a wooden box, into which the painting is lowered and fixed, so that the frame strip is flush with the front of the work.

I have measured incorrectly, what do I do now? (measurement guarantee)

Measurement guarantee is your security. Online trading must be easy and safe, and we trust that entering the width and height of the work is done to the best of our ability. If, contrary to expectations, you find that you have measured incorrectly - don't worry! Here, our measurement guarantee was created to ensure a positive "do-it-yourself" experience! We help you order a new frame for you in the right dimensions, and you only have to pay DKK 50 for handling + any difference if the new frame is to be larger.

Can you make other solutions than those on the website?

Yes! If you have inquiries about products or measurements that are not on our website, then give us a call and we would like to clarify whether the task can be carried out by us or point you in the direction of another workshop. We want to help you on your way to a certain time, so that your work can be hung.

Do you think circularly?

We constantly try to think circular paths. We have an ambition to turn our residual products into recycling gold for ourselves and others. Finally, let's find out together if your company could be interested in a collaboration where recycling is the key word.
